It should actually work. The system just needs to be able to process the USB signal.
A USB microphone, for example, rarely, if ever, works with something like that. USB ports are actually only designed to play MP3 files from a flash drive or something similar, one after the other, or at best, in random mode.

Zu jeder Anlage sollte es Gebrauchsanleitungen geben, die man hat oder vielleicht googeln könnte, wenn man Typ und Fabrikat wüsste.
Und zuletzt: probiere es doch einfach aus …
