Drastically improve spelling?

Hello !

So, after the summer break, I'm going into 7th grade at a middle school. I've had problems with spelling since elementary school.

I'm actually not that bad at German. For example, in March I had a German school test. I got the highest score in every exam. If spelling hadn't been graded, I would have gotten an A. But I got zero points in spelling, so I dropped to a C+ 🙁

I need to improve my spelling, because starting next year, my comma placement will be counted, and that will count towards my grammar points. I don't want to get a grade of 4 in German on my report card!

What tips do you have, and what else should I do during the holidays to improve my spelling? (School doesn't start until September 11th for me.)

I have just corrected your spelling on this issue…

What can you do?

  1. Read in general many good books with perfect sentences.
  2. You can always read your texts critically and correct errors.
  3. Learn the comma rules and get used to putting a space after the comma.
  4. Learn the different meanings and spellings of identical words, such as: you have been or teaching / emptying, again / against etc.

What really brings is a lot to read. No matter what the book goes, the more you read, the less problems with spelling you have.

Even if you want to be creative, you could write a book or a story, if only for you.

Otherwise simply practice, for example, you could write a text and repeat the incorrectly written words.

Rules “clean”, do exercises, complete the school. Afterward, no cock crows. Unconventional opinion, I know.

Your question + text are almost error-free. Better than 95 percent of what you get here.

You definitely have no problem with spelling. Respect and greetings!
