Reason for the location of irises?
Why are the upper leaves of irises folded inward and the undersides, with the stomata facing outward? How does this relate to the location (high humidity, wet soil)?

Humid location, so the plant needs to evaporate as well as possible (bottom side outside)…
…the opposite of drought-tolerant plants where evaporation is limited as much as possible…
