Quitting smoking: anti-relapse strategy?
Hello
I've definitely decided to quit smoking. After 30 years, I've had enough. I'll be 50 the day after tomorrow, and from that day on, I'll be done with the cigarettes.
Admittedly, I've already had a few unsuccessful attempts. Why unsuccessful? Quite simply: Going completely unlit from one day to the next is definitely not difficult. The first few days are a bit "itchy." After that, the cravings quickly subside. Most of it happens in my head anyway: the morning cigarette, the cigarette after dinner, the reward cigarette after the dentist, etc. I tell myself that there aren't any, and that's fine.
The problem for me is the standard situations (arguments, stress at work, car breakdowns, etc.) that I can't influence. I've been accustomed to lighting up for 30 years. I've failed in all my attempts at these situations. It's not the craving for a cigarette in the sense of a nicotine deficiency, but rather a practice or habit I've practiced for 30 years. It's my subconscious—the little devil inside me—that tells me… now light one up… but who cares if you're smoking again!
Do you have any tips for me on how I could handle something like this this time?
Hello
Congratulations. It’s one of your best decisions. Your health will thank you. 👍
I agree with PachamamaSquaw’s statements.
All statements are correct.
An anti-fall strategy…? Use a reasonable e-cigarette. You can use them at any time. You also have something in your hands, but it doesn’t hurt anymore.
Smoking cigarettes and tobacco have one of the highest known dependency potentials. But this is not the nicotine. It’s like to be asserted, but it has been proven to be disproportionate for many years. The dependence potential in cigarettes and tobacco is artificially generated. The many additives are responsible for this. The heat and combustion also contribute to this. It is a very complex issue.
Don’t worry about e-cigarettes as long as you give you a reasonable and don’t get cheap disposable stories…
E-cigarettes have shown that the potential for harmfulness is less than 5% compared to the pollutants of cigarette smoke. This is a scientific based assessment. It is therefore conservative. The real number is probably close to NULL.
Harmful substances are already prohibited by law in liquid, liquid for e-cigarettes, and this is valid for both liquid and gaseous aggregates! Source: Tobacco products §13
The use of e-cigarettes has proven to lead to no damage, even with years of use. There should be a distinction between harmfulness potential and real damage. Multiannual studies have shown this without doubt.
ABER… you should keep nicotine first. That is important and no problem at all. Finally, proper use of nicotine is unobjectionable for adults. It has its reasons why nicotine is available in pharmacies without age restrictions (from 12 years). There are only 2 exceptions when you should give up nicotine, pregnancy and cancer.
A nicotine addiction or nicotine dependence does not exist. This was accepted earlier, but was revised many years ago. It is always a tobacco dependency.
Nicotine, away from smoking, cigarettes and tobacco, does not lead to dependencies.
A dependent smoker is taboo-dependent. Smoking tobacco and cigarettes has one of the highest, known dependency potentials. The fairy tale of evil nicotine has been refuted for a long, long time.
ABER… if a smoker becomes tabac-dependent, then the body demands nicotine.
An example: Every dependent smoker who walks on e-cigarettes, with a liquid that has a high concentration of nicotine, where After the change, the withdrawal phenomena are completely omitted (not by cheap disposable e-cigarettes).
In addition, in these (Ex)smokings, after the last cigarette, the dependence successively, despite further use of nicotine. This proves that nicotine cannot make dependent as described above.
In the past, there was only the possibility of a cold withdrawal. This leads to a relapse in many dependent smokers. The fallback rate is extreme.
Since approx. For this reason, 20 years exist e-cigarettes.
They were invented as a comparable harmless option for smokers.
The change causes you to get away from the very harmful smoking. A change is relatively easy, under 2 conditions, 1. Your will is present and 2. You use an e-cigarette with nicotine in liquid. When the nicotine concentration in the liquid has been adjusted to the selected device and the inhaled nicotine quantity is high enough, then, but only then, all withdrawal phenomena are omitted. Since you get something for your hands, the problems of “where with your hands…” are eliminated.
At the beginning you exchange an inhalation variant for another. Smoking is extremely harmful, but steaming is comparatively harmless. If no longer smokes, your dependency will automatically build up, gradually. This makes e-cigarettes so successful.
Options would be nicotine sprays. You’ll get them in pharmacies. They are very expensive and long not so effective. Nicotine plasters are not recommended, as they just pass by placebos. Why…? because the human skin in this way leaves almost no nicotine.
E-cigarettes are comparatively harmless (The results of the evaluation of many studies of the Ministry of Health GB). E-cigarettes are not smoked, but steamed. The harmful in smoking are the thousands of substances that are caused and inhaled by combustion. There is no combustion in e-cigarettes. Only one liquid (liquid) is heated and temporarily evaporated. The liquid contains only 3 ingredients. 2 of these are officially safe food additives, plus food flavours and optionally nicotine. That was… more is not included. Even nicotine sprays contain more ingredients.
What happens after a change? Despite further use of nicotine, your tobacco dependence built up by smoking gradually decreases.
Paradox? No, because natural nicotine doesn’t make addiction.
What is called nicotine addiction is a tobacco dependency.
As a result You should note that any new cigarette will put you back to the beginning of a withdrawal.
After your last smoked cigarette improves your general health gradually. Smoking coughs disappear after 7-10 days. After a few months, the senses of taste and smell regenerate. Your condition and general fitness can also be rebuilt and that despite further consumption of nicotine. Nicotine would even be helpful as long as it is not consumed by tobacco.
In the beginning, you urgently need liquid with nicotine, so that the withdrawal symptoms are eliminated after a change. This makes a transition relatively easy.
Elementary important… for the beginning, the nicotine concentration in the liquid should be as high as possible, in doubt it should be too high than too low.
Don’t worry about nicotine! Nicotine is an actually harmless substance, with significantly more positive, than negative properties. With an excessive amount of nicotine, you could get headaches or get bad, no more. Then the amount of nicotine is reduced a little and everything is good. This does not lead to far-reaching consequences.
At some point, but with this you should leave your time, you gradually reduce the nicotine. If you’re at NULL, you can either continue steaming for a while or you just stop…
DAS is the most simple and proven most successful option to stop smoking once and for all.
Happy You… and stay healthy
Greeting, RayAnderson 😉
PS: In the net many fairy tales and myths cure about e-cigarettes and nicotine. It probably won’t change, but doesn’t make it true… Don’t let it affect you, but stick to the scientific facts.
You should not start the next unsuccessful attempt, from today to tomorrow is not the appropriate method for everyone. Find something that suits you. I chose a 4-week therapy at the time. First attempt, worked.
I kicked Fisherman’s friends without the end until even nasal blood came. The stuff plus a cigarette is not at all.
But my bigger problem was my hands. Before I was a chain smoker and they were suddenly empty or over. At some point, I’ve always been on it because I didn’t know where to do it.
Today I’d probably take a Fidget spider for my hands.
After approx. Two years ago, I was retired. Although I smoked my favorite brand, I was surprised. She didn’t taste the way I remembered her. It was just jealous and disgusting. After the last glimm stalk, I was off, which it needed. After 4 trains I threw him away and was smoke-free in the head cinema.
Hello htheus, 👋
Yes,
steam temporarily until you
the greedy behind you…
you can stop it without any problems.
Finally, e-cigarettes (the 95%)
more harmless than cigarettes)
invented. This has been proven
the best chance to make it final,
with harmful smoking.
A very good decision! 🥳👍👍👍

Science has long since refuted this claim. On the contrary, it has even been shown that Vapen tends to change to cigarettes rather than to lay off nicotine addiction.

Anyone who wants to deny these facts should have more to say than the absurd submission, the study authors could not distinguish between tobacco smoke and nicotine.
Look at the show “smoker in 90 minutes ” on YouTube. So I could stop smoking Super. Most people see it as a ” punishment ” not allowed to smoke anymore” and thus you lose something good. Once you can understand that when you stop smoking the best in your life win “Freedom, Health, Money ” you will be able to stop smoking without any problems. Think about the new freedom you gain! If you think you want to smoke, breathe deeply and spice and enjoy the fresh air going into your lungs, and how free you can breathe again with every minute without smoking. And how much energy it gives you for your further life.
You don’t have to get sick, you don’t have to spend thousands of euros on this trash. You can do it like millions of people before you, and stop smoking!
hm…
You don’t really want it.
otherwise you would stop right now.
and habits can also be distracted.
Of course I do. Otherwise, I wouldn’t ask for tips here. I can’t change my habits so fast…
Just stop.
I still had half a year of taboo and cigarettes and lighters.
could have been smoking if I wanted.
but not.
Nonsense.
