Keeping a rat cage clean?
Hey, I want to get some rats, but I need to do a bit of research first. I know that they are group animals and need a big cage, but I'm interested in what you need to take into account when cleaning the cage, how often you should clean it, what all belongs in a cage, and what I should look out for when buying one. If you have any other important things that I should know, please let me know.
Hey,
A small tip: Rats and litter is not so good for them. I have therefore always brought blankets from Kik for 3€ or such carpets. I then tailored these and laid on floor and floors. You can change them once a week and wash them in the washing machine. It’s always the easiest thing. And best of all, get a rat’s club for a corner. You always make the money in the beginning, and at some point they’ll go there alone. You can do cat litter or chinchilla sand in there.
I also did with my rats (:
Depending on how many animals on how many square meters. For 2 animals, I would clean weekly with normal size.
A house belongs in. Something for water and something for food. Then toys, like a bike or something to climb. … then becomes optional.
NO RAD! It’s unhealthy for the backbone, and it can be stuck underneath it!
Hm, mice have one. Then I thought rats were just n tons bigger, just need a little bigger bike. Mice don’t get stuck…
Hm. Tell the Röhnrad tournaments.

But it is on duration very harmful for the back
I’ve always been clean 1-2 times a week, my son is doing it with his as well.
I’d rather not take a cage, rather rebuild a closet, or you’re building yourself a volunteer. Here you can do a lot (eat and drinking bowl, houses, hammocks, branches to climb around, cuddly cubes/tunnel etc pp) in the net you will find plenty of inspiration.
A wheel need rats NOT, because there is no big enough for a rat and they grow a whole piece (if you get younger animals)
