Rapido/-a oder Rápidamente (spanisch)?

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen diesen beiden Wörtern? Und generell: worin unterscheiden sich 2 Wörter die den gleichen Stamm haben (hier:rapid) aber einmal die -o/-a Endung , einmal die -amente Endung und zudem noch die gleiche Bedeutung haben?

Rápido is an adjective (rápido, rápidos, rápida, rápidas), but can also be used as a shortened adverb (rápido) such as rápidamente: voy rápido/rápidamente.

Rápidamente, on the other hand, is always an adverb, so it cannot be used with substantive: un deportista/deporte/hombre rápido (not rápidamente) – on the other hand: un deportista/hombre rápidamente enfadado (here referred to the verb).

Rápidamente can also not be a determinative, so don’t explain a word to the noun.

The first is an adjective, the second is an adverb.
