RAID5 Background Initialization stuck at 0%?
Hello everyone,
I'll try my luck here, as I haven't found much information on the following topic so far
Two days ago, I received new servers (2x Fujitsu Primergy RX2530 M6). I created a RAID 5 on both systems about 32 hours ago, and both still show 0% during background initialization in the BIOS. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
5 SSD drives of 480 GB each (1.8 TB RAID size)
I am happy to answer any questions you may have
Thank you in advance and have a nice weekend!
From somewhere I have in mind that RAID5 has a general problem with (at least usual) SSDs because of writing the many parity data, at least the TRIM is not clear. In addition, RAID5 means a lot of writing on the SSDs, which is generally life-saving. A RAID10 or something isn’t coming into question?
Board raid or dedicated raid controller?
usually indicates that there is a defect
Is a dedicated raid controller, but I would find a defect in both servers funny.
Serial error in the controller or the SSD. Come on
I want to strangle one and see if it’s better with a new attempt
What I’ve learned: before I start the first firmware update if there is
What are you using for Controller / SSD?
The controller is from Fujitsu – PRAID CP500i and the SSDs are the MICRON 5300 Max, have attached an image from the iRMC to the question
Will at least be able to reset the RAID controller and test it again, maybe it’ll do something
