Rabbit has a cold and nothing helps, what to do?
I have a problem with my 3-year-old rabbit. Let me start from the beginning!
About a year ago, my rabbit had a cold, and I went to the vet. I was given a powder (sorry, I forgot the name). The powder is white, and you're supposed to put a pinch on fruit/vegetables, etc. It was an expectorant, and it got better. About 3-4 months ago, my rabbit got a cold again. I put the powder on vegetables again, but it didn't help. I then went to the vet, and he gave him some injections. That didn't help either. Then he was given Orniflox (I think an antibiotic) and another liquid (it was called Mucosa). After consulting the vet, he was given it every day for weeks, and it didn't help. Then the vet suggested I buy my rabbit ACC children's juice with raspberry flavor and give it to him. That didn't help either. He's also been given various herbal teas, like sage and thyme, as they're apparently also expectorants (also after consulting the vet). It's not his teeth or ears, as he's already had two x-rays. I've also tried inhaling, but that doesn't help either. A nasal swab was also taken, and nothing serious was found. The apartment is vacuumed daily and dusted regularly. I don't know what to do anymore. At night, he's always sneezing or sometimes has fits where he sneezes and wheezes for one to two minutes straight. I don't know what to do, and I've already spent almost €500 at the vet for nothing. Otherwise, my rabbit is behaving completely normally. He plays with his companion and eats and drinks normally. His stools and urine are also normal. I urgently request your help.
Hello 🙋🏽
I think he’s got chronic rabbits. I had a lot of rabbits myself. As early as possible, the antibiotic should be treated as a veterinarian. That’s what we were, but it didn’t work anyway.
You can’t do much. But you can ease the symptoms by feeding lots of fresh herbs. Inhalation can also work very well. To do this, put the rabbit in a transpt box, put a bowl of steaming water next to it and cover a towel. The rabbit should stay in the transptbox for about 10 minutes. I would recommend inhaling for your rabbit daily.
Two rabbits should have at least 6 square meters day and night.
Dear Greetings I hope I could help you
Is not the best season ..
But…
Yes Rabbits need hay…
Have you ever been an allergy?
Ggf. Adjust the feed ..
I prefer to feed…as natural it is possible…
Meadows… But even fruit and vegetables…
Hazelnuts…and so on…
edible
Breitwegian… Etc.
Never…
And nasal discharge ..
What color….
Vll other heu test
..if it is sensitive..vll the hay is stubborn…
What are you trying to do?
Hey, have already tested various scatters and hay brands and sprinkle current wood pellets as it is not so dusty. I have a lot of fresh, hay, various herbs and a special low-calcium and pasture-free food.
When sneezing and after sneezing, it is only wet/wet. Otherwise no color or similar.
There would be a lot of things done… Probably a chronic sniff that reacts very sensitively to stress/insecurity.
Can you ask for your attitude? Does he live alone? Feed? Freewheel? Cuddly units?
With a good attitude, the snuff can actually be held back well even without medis in most cases.
Edit: That with the enjoyed I read, 2nd question answered 😅
It is held with another rabbit. The two understand each other well. The two have a large cage they like to have (also they like to be there when running free). Otherwise, the two can walk freely in the apartment. Feeds get the two lots of fresh, hay and extra a calcium poor and grain-free feed. Kalzium arm, as one of the rabbits once had blown slime or what that was called again. Since then, I’ve been watching that not happen again. They also like to be stroked and are also suspicious.
Well, cage, no matter how big is just crap… he probably doesn’t have 6qm… Maybe you can cut off a corner in your apartment with such spouts and keep them there with spout…
Otherwise, I can’t read anything wrong that he could trigger the snuff… did you change the stray and the hay? There are also quality differences… they looked into the nose. To determine whether a straw or the like is in it?
I can only recommend you an effective house remedy… Caraway oil is such a small miracle medium in rabbits…a few drops (in the beginning only 1-3, later up to 5-6) on a salad leaf or similar…
Okay, all right, I hope it’s helping… I’ve got a pair of wonders at my snuff, and, in addition, it’s a super medium for constipation.
There I give you right with the cage, however, this is used by my rabbit as a sleeping place and toilet for the two, otherwise the two have as good as always run out
I also looked for better with scatter and hay. After consultation with the veterinarian, I moved to wood pellets because they did not “dusty” and I think that it has also become a little better than with different stray species. However, it is still there
and thanks for the tip with the oil, I will definitely try out and hope that it will bring something, thank you
The cheeky seasoning explains why he’s getting really cute at night… but he could also lie in the hay and scatter, but then he would think I’m avoiding the cage during the day.
And how often… it’s cute…
Is it a hasschie…or stopping more often ..
I’m sorry, it says… if it were overlooked..
And the other… has nix .. doesn’t even stick to it or something..
Vll be allergic ..
Can also holzp. His… I notice wood… Even without dust.
New he runs 24 hours free…
He has the possibility of …to soften the hay ..I do not know if you have the possibility to offer ..es outside the cage ..
Once as a test…
Something other than usual…
Simply as a test..
Scatter free… cloth or something…
White pellets vll..
Or allergy test
And if necessary change…
Niesanfalls so 1-2 daily and they stop for 2 minutes and otherwise here and there a hasschie
Hm OK… Watch if they always appear in the cage.. a room spray was used… Or so..
Are you taking kaefigdeo? I don’t get out of it.but who knows.
I think of an allergy sweetening… Or hyper sensitive… Easy .. on something ..
