"Holiday during the compulsory internship – entitlement and effects of HTL students?

Hey guys, I have to complete a mandatory four-week internship for school. The internship is almost over; I only have one week left.

My employer has now granted me two days of vacation, even though I thought I was not entitled to it during my one-month internship.

Now I'm wondering if it's problematic if I take these two days off, since I'll then have only worked three weeks and three days instead of the full four. What do you think?

Should be fine. You'll still be employed there during your vacation and will get paid.

For us, the mandatory internship was 8 weeks! (It could be spread over the entire HTL period.) Are you sure it's only 4 for you?

No. As long as the contract is for 4 weeks, everything's fine 😉

Here in Austria that would be correct.

Do you have a fixed-term employment contract for 4 weeks or 1 month?, and therefore you are entitled to 2 days of vacation.

Which you can consume in kind or be paid out.

If it's in Austria, you would also be entitled to a pro rata holiday and Christmas bonus.

If he has registered you correctly, ie paid you the correct salary and also taxed it (which he has to do so that you can get an official internship certificate), then you are also entitled to pro rata vacation days.

If you work there full-time (36-40 hours per week), you're entitled to 25 vacation days per year. Since you're only there for a month, that's 2 days for you.

So it's perfectly legal if you don't work on these days.
