Questions about student Bafög?
Hey,
I'm currently in 9th grade, and after 10th grade, I want to go to Erfurt and get my Abitur at a vocational high school. Only then would I have to live in Erfurt during the week. But we don't know if we could manage it financially.
I saw that there's something called student Bafög (student financial aid). I have a few questions about it. Is it enough if I'm in Erfurt from Monday to Friday? And does my mother's and father's salary count towards this?
How does this work? By that, I mean, what do I need to keep in mind? Or is there even a chance of getting it?

Is there no other way? I think if you’re so young, it’s always difficult. Isn’t there a professional gymnasium near you, where you can go by bus or train?
At the time I am already 16 and will also be in November 2026 17. There is a possibility, but I don’t want a gym with economic lessons.
I must disappoint you. The conclusion at the end is identical. Since you can do the Abitur with you as well, there is no Bafög in place
I can understand that in the end, however, you still have a general abitur and should have nothing to do with business. But in time it lasts 6 hours of economy and then still in Abi.
