Reicht so ein billiges Laptop (Linux) zum Programmieren?

Will mir diesen Laptop holen z.B für 70€. Lenovo Thinkpad S540|Linux Mint|8GB|128 GB Festplatte | eBay Ich habe derzeit Windows, aber muss für meine Masterarbeit mit Linux arbeiten zum Programmieren (für ROS z.B). Reicht es dann einfach so einen günstigen Laptop zu holen, um nur zu Programmieren? Danke

Either UEFI vs. CSM boot mode (already both in the boot menu of the motherboard?) or sometimes you have to watch what program you use to create the trick. Keep in touch with the provider’s instructions, even with regard to the choice of the USB stick writing tool.

how do I try in bootmenu? can you choose this? it is a new laptop with UEFI instead of BIOS. CSM is needed only for the compatibility between both systems. rufus is a common tool that is also used in tutorials.

In most boot menus (where you have the right button pressed in time) you can use e.g. select the USB stick between UEFI and CSM. Can make a difference.

And I just saw on Linux Distri websites that, for example, best Linux-Distris and best. Win-USB-Stick Image-Write Tools do not harmonize.

So that was the mistake. But now I have another one.

I am now in the boot menu and select test media and install qubes.

after that the screen is black and the pc reboots.

I just read the installation instructions, there is recommended to use rufus. I found the mistake. I need to write in DD image mode.
