Quad smoking heavily?
Hey,
I bought a used quad (a 2013 SMC Rex Aspen 50cc) and noticed while riding that it was smoking heavily. What could be causing this? I've come up with the theory that it's getting too much oil, but I don't know how to check, or if it's due to something else (like the exhaust). The quad's smoke is white/gray rather than blue or black.
Thank you in advance for your answers!
I would tap the cylinder head gasket, as cooling water probably flows into the combustion chamber.
Can I sort of check this before I start ordering all possible spare parts?
You could measure the compression pressure over the spark plugs. There should be a strong pressure loss.
Just looked after, in case of compression loss, the quad should probably start hard, but starts with a kick as well as directly pressing the e-starter.
Control spark plug image.
Don’t understand what this has to do with the spark plug, because it’s a long-lasting one, and not starting. I’m sorry if I’m wrong.
