Proper storage in the car?
Hello dear Good Question Community,
I want to drive to Italy with my friends soon. Space is a big issue for us. We're driving a convertible, which has a small trunk but no access to the front. Practically nothing can fly forward. We wouldn't have enough space for suitcases or travel bags. We've come up with the idea of packing our clothes loosely in the trunk. This wouldn't pose any legal problems, would it? We also want to transport a travel bag and a few filled bags or purses on the back seat in the free footwell below. Does this "cargo" need to be secured? Are there any legal issues?
Best regards and thanks in advance!!
That says everything. If you’re picking up the stuff on the backseat bench, it’s clear.
there is no problem in the trunk, right?
Technically, this is also true there, but no one is interested in that.
Lose in the trunk is chaotic and impractical.
From my own Cabrio Italy experience, I can say that several pretty loosely packed bags are practical. They can be squeezed very well into the often somewhat impractical form of a convertible trunk and effectively exploit the space. At the same time, you can find the things well ordered.
Everything okay, just keep an eye on the permissible total weight
I would do it in bags, cloth bags. Then you have more order.
