Program crashes despite high-end PC?

Hello,

I built my absolute high-end PC a few months ago.

For example, the following are installed:

ASUS RTX 4090 24GB WHITE OC

i9 14900K

64GB DDR5 CORSAIR DOMINATOR RAM

ASUS Z-790 GAMING-E MAINBOARD

RM1200X CORSAIR POWER SUPPLY

NZXT KRAKEN Z73 360MM

INSTALLED IN AN NZXT H9 Elite

And an HDD & 3 SSDs

Everything is running great, there are no problems EXCEPT:

When I use programs like Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe After Effects, they simply close automatically during my workflow. No crash notifications, nothing. Furthermore, the program often crashes during the rendering process. Sometimes right at the beginning, sometimes after 60%, and if I'm lucky, it even renders completely.

I also have this problem in various games.

Microsoft Flight Simulator crashes very, very often.

GTA 5 too.

Counter Strike 2 too.

I have no problems with Rocket League and Minecraft (or titles like Monopoly). Everything runs flawlessly there.

I reinstalled the graphics card drivers, but that didn't help.

I reset Windows, nothing helped.

On my old computer with i7 10700 and RTX 2060 I NEVER had problems with crashes like this.

Perhaps also worth mentioning: I had a one-time blue screen with the message: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error cause: NVLDDMKM.sys

Possible causes may include:

  • The Vertical GPU Mounting Kit can impair the cooling of the graphics card, especially with a powerful GPU like the RTX 4090. Heat problems could affect stability
  • The NVLDDMKM.sys error is a hint of problems with the NVIDIA driver, that is to say uninstall the driver with the DDU and drag the latest if the one you have already installed was not the newest. Alternatively, older drivers try to run more stable.
  • DDR5 RAM can run unstable with wrong settings in the BIOS or faulty RAM module -> RAM test with MemTest86 (cases RAM overclocked, drossle the whole)
  • The power supply should not be the cause, but you can check with tools like HWInfo and check the whole thing.
  • An i9-14900K can get very hot under load, and faulty settings in the BIOS could make the system unstable -> Temparatur check while gaming/rendering. See that the coolant circulates well and refreshes the BIOS of your motherboard

Otherwise you will only be able to separate step by step components that you do not need, and the circle to tighten the error.

Hi – is hard to limit

  • DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL indicates an error in a driver
  • NVLDDMKM.sys could be the NVIDIA driver

BUT you say yes, he’s been updated.

However, what can happen: a problem on the plug contacts, so that the driver can somehow simply not work properly with the GraKa.

I’d take the graphics card out and re-use it, remove all the plug-in connections and re-plug it. Also on the GPU?

It’s just an attempt. Just an idea.

to keep the BIOS up to date, while the Intel 14 Gen has a very nice story behind it:

There are currently already auxiliary programs that can detect damage to the CPU.

Furthermore, the GPU first try without using Riser cables, possibly your problem is in it.
