Problems with WiFi controller?
Good morning,
I've been having a few problems with my wireless LAN controller for some time now. It's a Mediatek MT7663. It started with no networks being displayed, even though there were definitely some available. After a restart, however, everything was fine. Just now, nothing was displayed at all and the device manager said that it couldn't be started. After deactivating and reactivating it, it worked for 5 minutes, but now nothing works at all. The drivers are up to date and I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the controller, but that didn't help. Is there any way to repair it? Otherwise, I'll just buy an external chip or see if I can replace the original.
Buy a new adapter. You can thank Microsoft 🙂 They cripple everything that doesn't suit their taste. Pathetic. There might be replacement drivers. Google for conflicts with this adapter. I've seen several chipsets, especially MediaTek, that haven't worked since an update. Windows is just crap.
Thanks 😀 I hadn't noticed at the time of the question, but I still have Linux Mint and Kali in dual boot and everything works there…
