Problems with Epson printer?

We have a new Epson printer (the old one was also an Epson), but it's still causing problems. (It's always running the latest software!)

Printing on a computer is only possible with a cable (even that doesn't always work). And on a smartphone, it's a 50/50 chance of it working at all.

Because sometimes things go well for a month and then nothing works again. There has to be a permanent solution.

Are you having problems with this, or am I alone? And if not, what are you doing to get it working again?

— Tried: restart, latest firmware, unplug cable / restart wifi etc.
