Problem question about castles? Ideas?
My brother is currently studying the Middle Ages and castles in his history class, and he's supposed to come up with a problem-solving question about castles. Unfortunately, none of us really has a clue what to use. Can you help?

Why weren’t any more castles built?
Why do many castles have ruins and often not even these? Where are the many stones?
Why did many castles change their owners so often?
What happened in a siege, and why failed many sieges?
Why were castles often built on mountains? But there are also castles without mountain, what is different?
