Problem with the internet?

Good day,

I have the following problem: I have a 250k line from Telekom. However, for at least the last 4-5 days, I've been having 10-13 disconnects a day, each lasting about 5-6 minutes. The speed depends on the connection speed. On Thursday, a technician from Telekom came to see me and said that a new line needed to be installed because my plan (250k) was too high for the outdated line. This shouldn't be a problem in itself, as appointments are usually made fairly quickly, but unfortunately the landlord has to give his permission for anything to happen. Since I don't get along very well with him, and I'm worried that the line will have to be laid through the two apartments below me, I'm assuming that he won't give his permission, nor does my neighbor want this. So I'm wondering if anyone here might know anything more? I've restarted the router a couple of times, of course, and opened the ports using the Telekom app, but unfortunately, nothing has helped. I also find it hard to imagine that it is absolutely necessary to lay a new line, since everything worked smoothly in previous years (apart from a few DCs here and there).

Moin,

in the case of a 250K line, it may be quite possible that the copper line is no longer at high speed. Unfortunately, the lines are not necessarily better than a mature wine. ;

With a connection like yours, it can also be that there may be new devices in the house. A neighbor has a new microwave, someone might use powerline devices – such things. Electrical influences can also influence the line. And if the landlord should not give his OK to renew the houselines, you could see if we stepped down your connection to a smaller profile. From 250 to 175.

Please contact us for a more detailed examination tomorrow. Today we are running a maintenance of the systems, so I am unfortunately not going to be able to do so today.

Best regards

If this is not possible to transfer the new line, you can only throttle your speed and this is usually throttled to 175mbits.

But often you only hear that the line is to be exchanged, but that’s not the case.
And as too often, customers say that they have broken down, but not that this is only with WLAN, and DANN is not a fault of Telekom.

Yes that with the throttle can already help

This happens automatically after a time when it is necessary to ensure more stability. So you have a new tech appointment?

And does Deutsche Telekom say it’s syncha breaks? You see that in the error memory.

This can already be that slowly failing the lines, we in the east have, after the turn, surface-covering phone gets that will be renewed in pieces (not glass fiber) really the old lines.

In the router, where exactly is everyone different. My speedport w724 has the information before login under DSL information.
