Preparing for an SAP internship:?

Hey guys, I'm starting an internship in SAP in two weeks. The programming language used is ABAP. I'd like to know how I can prepare for it.

Although no prior knowledge is required, I would like to at least know the basics so that I can make a good impression.

Which development environment can I download to my laptop so that I can program ABAP?

From your question, do I conclude that you will probably work in software development? Unfortunately, you cannot derive from your question what is called “in the field of SAP”. A lot of things are possible. From ECC6 to S4 to HANA DB etc.

Unfortunately, it is not as easy to prepare for handling SAP:

  1. There have been no free SAP environments for several years
  2. Learning ABAP without a specific project is not sensible (also applies to any other programming language)
  3. SAP is very complex and has grown over 25 years. Every module looks different than the previous one. Without knowing what business process you will support, it is not possible to prepare

Now I want to give you something positive. You can look for ABAP Introduction or ABAP Introduction on Youtube. If you’ve been watching a hand full of videos, it should take you a bit.
