Pregnant, support?

It's now clearer that I'm definitely pregnant. The gynecologist was able to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. However, she said I'm probably earlier in the pregnancy, since it's still so small and there's no heartbeat yet. Is this normal? Should I be worried? When can you generally rule out diseases?

I actually wanted to study social work. Should I still start this winter semester? And mention that I'm pregnant? And, above all, my GPA wasn't that great (3.4), so can I even consider a social work degree program?

And what financial support can I consider? For example, am I registered with my parents?

Relax and believe your gynecologist.

As far as the study is concerned, clarify this with the university. If you're pregnant now, it'll be too close to this winter semester, the release would have to be in the exam period if I didn't calculate.

Whether distance learning or not makes little difference, you still have to take care of the child. I'd move it all by one to a half years that the child is fed in a crib.

I almost would have said that there was an FSJ in between, but it probably won't be possible for pregnant.

Dear Vanessa, now you know that you are pregnant and of course have many questions. May I give you some caution… you wrote in June that you are a family man and your friend wants a child in principle. Of course, that it has happened so surprised, it will take you out of the way. This is normal, even in “planned” pregnancy. In the first weeks, the pregnancy hormones become noticeable. It takes time and you will feel more stable again.

The fact that you do not see a heartbeat at the beginning of pregnancy is normal. What week does the doctor say you are? You can just let time pass and you'll see more at the next appointment. Has she prescribed you folic acid? This supports the development of the baby at the beginning of pregnancy.

You had written that your friend and your family would support you. That's still the case – he's on your side?! For your questions about studies in pregnancy and finance, there are counseling offers. You might find a caritas site or you can find Profemina online and get information there. Some universities also have good care for students with children. You'll find out. Happy for you and a lot of courage! And write if you have any questions 👋

Congratulations!

You won't be alleyed. You need to clarify the details yourself, ask the competent authorities.

Good luck!
