I'm 8 weeks pregnant, and today was my second gynecologist appointment. The yolk sac has doubled in size within a week and is now 0.70 cm, down from 0.38 cm previously. There's no embryo visible and no heartbeat. My gynecologist is already preparing me for an abortion. My HCG level was measured last week at around 35,559. Do you think an embryo can still form? My gynecologist was skeptical, saying that the HCG level should already be over 100,000 and doubling daily… I'm really worried…

8 SSW and no embryo is not a good prognosis. It is also possible to calculate, of course, because one does not know exactly when ovulation was accurate and when exactly the egg has nested. So sometimes it can be that you can see something at the next appointment. But it can also be very good that nothing grows.
