There are two main focuses or styles in abstract art:
a) the design, geometric and b) the sensational, impulse, expressive.

to a) Mondrian, El Lissitzky, Delaunay, Josef Albers …
(b) Karl Otto Götz, Emil Schumacher, Hans Hartung …
The pictures of Karl Otto Götz are very impressive. Thank you for the many examples.

Before you abstract something, you must first have the practical skills to have understood this object graphically.
learn the craft and then look into which direction it develops.
If you want to copy a max seriously, you have to get up early
I just looked at some pictures of him. I think this is an extremely high level in terms of this? I would rather go towards acrylic where several color layers are applied and then give an impressive contrast.
GANZ is already very difficult to produce with acrylic colours.
The easiest way is to use aquarell and with aquarell pencils and water.
but you need to be able to draw a motiv correctly and realistically so that you can effectively abstract it.
French marc is even more difficult. he especially liked to paint animals, not the motive, but the creature of the animal or animals standing in the foreground. in my eyes a real masterpiece
