This depends on it again.

The house supply leads three phases. One task of the electrician is to distribute the phases evenly to all circuits, so that in principle they are uniformly loaded. If the two counters are present at the same phase, the counters are disturbed, but the connection would still have to be achieved if the data rate is slightly reduced. If not, a component would in principle be required that a galvanically free coupling of the counter feed lines would be built up. Expensive to barely have to install from the electrician… (partly it can come between lines to “crosstalk”. HF waves not only run on the propagation conductor, but also on parallel conductors. whether it is Durable for a certain connection, would be questionable.)

What’s up?

  1. Try. If the result is not equally good enough, look for an alternative.
  2. Alternative 1: But draw a lead? Drill hole, plug LAN cable and connect two switches. Ready. (Or cable to the window, to the next in or with hole in the window frame.) Please think for special sealing compound for fire protection!
  3. Alternative 2: Use radio link, something: Fritz!Box–WLAN-Mesh-Repeater—Funk–WLAN-Mesh-Repeater–Switch. Or something. Important: Mesh has to be made so that the repeaters can’t use the WLAN and can easily switch devices from one radio link to the next. The repeaters could then be placed on both sides of a wall or so.
  4. Alternative 3: Industrial solution with radio link. But then I would almost go back to drilling.
  5. Please further invent solutions.

There are two answers

  • at Powerline / AVM it really was with me that I needed a phase coupler (electrical inst etc.
  • at devolo this looks different; if the phases run parallel over a certain distance (because: not shielded), the devolos can also work without phase couplers. You should test that.

I wouldn’t stick to the number of counter boxes because you don’t know how they’re connected.

What does the router have to do with it?
