Powerline and printer?

The notebook is in the living room, the printer is in another room.

The following works:

  1. I connect the powerline box to the notebook via power cable
  2. I get an adapter power supply/USB port
  3. I connect the printer in the other room to the powerline box via adapter
  4. Or am I making a mistake in my thinking?

Yeah, there’s a mistake. Either you have a network printer, then you can connect the printer directly to the network via Lan or Wlan and do not need an adapter on USB, or the printer is not networkable, then it does not work with an adapter. If the latter is the case then you need a device between printer and network, which can function as a print server.

No, you’re missing the router that takes over the IP administration.

And if your printer doesn’t have a LAN, it won’t work anyway.

Then you need a print server or a router that allows you to connect a printer to a USB port.

IP administration you don’t need, you can enter directly . I do constantly with powerlines . is just a cable extension .

Not if the printer has no LAN connection. How is he supposed to receive the IP?

jap

Adapter power connection/ USB connection

does not exist, 2 different protocols .

at most you can see if you find a ding with USB printer pooler and then hope it has the driver for the printer.

network printer would go. Otherwise you need what you can pack the USB drivers on.
