Build your own power bank from vape batteries?

I've come across a considerable number of empty "disposable" vape pens. As most people know, they contain batteries; these things are a real environmental disaster. I'd like to build a large power bank out of them.

The batteries have 3.7V

from 500mAh-700mAh and usually 1.1 Wh

The power bank is supposed to be charged via a small solar panel and be able to charge a hand (via USB A).

What kind of boards do I need? Is there a guide?

I’d rather get away from it. A power bank from several cells definitely needs corresponding load balancers, which is likely to exceed the cost of commercial products in self-construction.

In addition, it is to be assumed that in the (as you say yourself) completely superfluous electric scrap very cheap and inferior cells are installed, I would assume that from them there is a constant risk of fire, which you certainly do not want to be lurked in your own apartment.

Perhaps my mathematics skills have been greatly reduced, but are 500 mAh at 3.7 V not already 1.85 Wh and at 700 mAh and 3.7 V even 2.59 Wh? How do you get 1.1 Wh? Because that would be about 297 mAh.

Well, then I’d think it’s a contradiction in itself.

500 mAh are 0.5 Ah * 3.7 = 1.85 Wh.

Your bill is not true. With such limited knowledge, I would leave the project.
