police?

Hello, I received a message today on eBay classifieds about a mini-job. The person wanted my Instagram. I asked if we wouldn't rather write to each other via WhatsApp. He said no, we'll do it via Instagram or eBay. I agreed to enter my Instagram. At some point he started to act strange. He wanted to know where I lived and wanted to invite me to sushi. At some point it all seemed very strange to me. I gave him the wrong address, and when I said I didn't want to write like that anymore and I didn't want this job anymore either, he said, then he'll just have to come to me. I said, is that supposed to be a threat? He said no, but I can find out everything through the station anyway, where you live, what your name is, how old you are. I got really scared and am now really desperate. As a police officer, am you allowed to access a stranger's private information via the station for no reason? Please reply urgently.

Oh, you arms! Look, I had such a lunatic too! I had also been looking for a job on Ebay, and this crazy guy offered me one too. It was almost the same procedure as you did. I also wanted to break the contact and then I told him that and then it started with the threats. He would come to visit me because he also had contacts with the police and court. He also told me he’d make an executing decision against me if I were lying around. Please contact Ebay and describe what happened (best with chat history) and then go to the police. There you also say how it has expired (with chat history). Try to create a new account on Ebay. You can’t do more! I hope I could help you. I wish you all love and good, and be careful. Unfortunately, there are many evil people on Ebay. 👍😎

No, he shouldn’t.

He wanted your eBay and the like to get to your address.

My opinion:

That’s not quite so dangerous, but if you didn’t call him anything relevant….

For “private purposes”, no police officer and no police officer may search the security authorities’ databases. In a basic judgement by the Bavarian Administrative Court after an inadmissible data request by a police officer, it is said: “There is a need for increased care not to use the data unauthorized outside police purposes”.

However, he would have to be able to prove and justify this in the event of a doubt. This would be far too insecure for a real official who has his senses together.

If you have given false information, the other one will not get your right address, how will he do that?
calm down, he’s just threatening, there’s nothing happening.

and don’t go back to such things, who has nothing to hide does not seek employees about classifieds

No, if you haven’t given a name, and that’s why a police officer can’t do it at all.

and what does the police have to do with it?
Should the minijob be with the police?
then the eh scam

He probably wanted your data. You have to be careful with classifieds.

You can report it to classifieds. He can’t find you on Instagram if you don’t post your location there. But I would never give out the WhatsApp number because if he knows someone from the mobile phone shop, he can find out the address and bank details.
