If, on the other hand, you meant topography, you should be told that Greece is very mountainous. The individual cities/villages/municipalities were thus quite isolated. Maybe that gives you a hint.

Yes and I just don’t understand this question. I know why the poleis was favoured by tonographic conditions, but not what it has to do with the common sense.
The feeling of communion was created by exchange and contact, also by the same language and the same gods etc. But I just don’t get involved
