Poisonous animals in the Mediterranean (Greece)?
Hey you,
In October, I'll probably fly to the island of Rhodes in Greece. My question is, what are the dangers in the water/on land? For example, if I go swimming or snorkeling in a bay/beach, is there anything I might encounter that might not be so nice? Or do people tend to stay away from "populated" beaches?
Thanks in advance ^^
Hello!
These animals are in the water and you have to be careful. For example, you can discover or see them while diving.
PS: I think someone from my family was on Rhodes too.

I've been preparing the Greek islands for over 40 years. I haven't met a dangerous animal yet, neither water nor land.
Nevertheless, I would wear bathing shoes for swimming. This is simply more convenient for walking on a rocky beach. In addition, it is not so easy to enter a sea urchin.
No one. And if they move.
Theoretically there are also sharks in the Mediterranean, but practically you will never get a face. There are no dangers.
Incorrect! There are MANY poisonous doors in the Mediterranean!
By the way, sharks are not poisonous.
I had not now explicitly referred to poison animals, but generally to dangerous animals.
A stonefish will rarely get lost in the Aegean and there are really dangerous jellyfishes.
The chance that you will meet Rhodes on a "hazardous animal" outside the human being should be against zero. Not in the water on the land.
Oh, and jelly isn't there, what? ♂️🤦 ♂️ ♂️
Immerse yourself in the Mediterranean.
I have been an active apnea diver for over 25 years (at least those you encounter on the coast of Rhodes – by the way, I have a seaweed tattooed on my leg) at FAR from dangerous animals.
What do you think? Stonefish can be found in tropical and subtropical waters near coral reefs. If you get to meet a stone fish in the waters around Rhodes, please play Lotto! The chance of 6 correct ones should be higher.
And the stonefish??
