Play PC games with Switch Pro Controller?
Hello, I'd like to play PC games (e.g., GTA, Fall Guys, Fortnite, etc.) with a controller, but I only have a Switch Pro Controller. I can connect it via Bluetooth and use it with Steam, but not with anything else. I notice that the controller itself is connected correctly, but nothing happens in the games when I use it. Am I missing a driver or program that would help? Or does it not work with the Switch controller?

The problem is that the switch controller does not act like a gamepad.
A virtual XBox controller is then generated in Steam, which is then controlled by the Nintendo Controller. That’s why games that aren’t started by Steam can’t be recognized or used.
On Windows, I’m not sure, but on Linux you can add “Steam Alien Games” to the library on Steam so that Steam (with all Steam tools) can start. This would have to solve your problem.

They did this for the Steam deck. The operating elements of the steam deck can then be turned into any input devices so that you can then use virtually any game correctly. And the same system is also in normal Steam.
You can emulate different game controllers and then control them with any input devices.
