Plastic in the sea?

Maybe my question is stupid. The media often shows images of the ocean or beaches filled with plastic waste. I realize that's partly true, but I doubt it's all real in these quantities. Many pictures and videos show so much garbage, I think it can't be true. Judging by the pictures, every plastic bottle and bag in the world must have been thrown into the ocean. How could they have gotten there? Very few people throw their plastic away in the ocean. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this, or to explain it to me 🙂

They’re real recordings. Over 8 million tons of plastic come to the sea every year. The crowd on the photos is so big because it’s plastic of the last 50 years. It’s not a fake or panic thing.

The increase of satellites in space (up to 2400) and 6300 tons of other garbage! Remains of rockets, space capsules, satellites, etc.

With these figures one can see how it has been kept with waste prevention so far. I did not mention the atomic waste from atomic plants, which is extremely dangerous because of its radiation. Until now, there has been no definitively secure “Schrottplatz” for this, thousands of barrels are currently in old tunnels. How much is already on the seabed is not known, but some have already been found. Atom waste needs much longer than plastic until it is “degraded” and harmless.

I think many underestimate the extent of our lightness and stupidity enormously!

Many nations load their garbage on ships that “dispose of this garbage in the sea” is just a cost-effective option of waste disposal.
