Pill and time difference?

Hello,

I take the pill Femikardin 30 and since I have recently had sex with my boyfriend without a condom, I am taking it quite confidently and believe that I have had absolutely no mistakes taking it so far.

So far I have done it so that my alarm clock is set for 7 a.m. (because that is easier on school days) and I take the pill at exactly 7 a.m. even on holidays or at the weekend.

Now I'm flying to Gran Canaria today (-1h time difference) so when the alarm goes off at 7 there it's actually 8 in Germany.

Is it important to take them at 6 or does it not matter?

I still find it difficult to fully trust the pill and am therefore really worried about getting pregnant even though I know that the pill is very safe.

Many thanks for your understanding,

LG

As a rule, the pill is always recommended“about the same time”to take. This means a daytime; in the morning, after lunch, before bedtime…

Therefore, taking the second/minute/hour does not have to be done exactly – except taking a mini pill only with Levonorgestrel, which has a time window of 3 hours. But that’s not the case with you.

Custom combination pills (as well as your femikardin 30) and also estrogen-free pills with desogestrel have a tolerance of 12 hours. If you take a forgotten pill within this time, the protection will be preserved. There must be no more than 36 hours between two pills.

After a late intake, the next pill should be taken again at half-way usual time – so you can’t hit 12 hours in consecutive pills.

With such a small time shift, you can take your pill without care at local time. It’s not a problem if you sleep out and take it later.

Happy for you and a nice holiday!

Hello

At Femikardin 30 you can take a forgotten pill up to 12 hours later without losing protection.

Our many years of experience has shown that it is safer to take the pill in the morning. You usually stand up at the same time and when you get up on the weekend, the time difference doesn’t matter, because you can take the femikardin 30 up to 12 hours without losing protection. Besides, you have time to take a forgotten pill all day. In the evening, you’re more on the go, and you’ll see the time.
