Piaggio Bravo not running smoothly?

Dear users,

My 1995 Piaggio Bravo isn't running smoothly anymore. Besides the fact that it occasionally stalls when stationary, my problem is that after 15-20 minutes of driving, it suddenly stops responding to the accelerator and stalls. If I let it stand for a while, it runs normally again for a short while. What's the problem?

Many thanks and kind regards

The scooters have always been equipped with a fan-cooled engine. According to your description, the engine has a cooling problem. Either the air inlet is closed or the cooling ribs on the engine are set by dust and dirt or the blower has lost a few blades (wings). In any case, this seems to be a cooling problem!

How old? It may be that the thing is so old that the shimmer rings of the crankshaft are no longer tight. Cold the material pulls together, rings (almost) tight, When the warm gets and the material stretches out the rings are leaking.
