Pi Pico Gameboy games?

Hello to all hobbyists,

I've decided to build a Gameboy emulator with my Raspberry Pi Pico and am using this article as a guide: https://www.youmaketech.com/pico-gb-gameboy-emulator-handheld-for-raspberry-pi-pico/ .

I've already ordered all the parts I still need. However, I just now realized that this emulator can only play "normal" gray .gb Game Boy files.

That's stupid because I was counting on the fact that you could also play color games like Mario Kart Super Circuit, because the article shows several pictures with color games on them and secondly a color display is used.

Now the question is whether there is a way to still play games like the aforementioned Mario Kart or at least Gameboy Color games.

If anyone has any idea what can be done or what I need to change to make it work, I would be very grateful.

Best regards and thank you very much!

You must look at the graphic code.

Also analyze how the colorants work

And accordingly expand the code by the color variant
