Phishing Gmails?

Hi,

I recently received an email from Post Prelander saying that my package hadn't been delivered because no one was home, and I was asked to click on a link. I didn't order anything, and of course I didn't do anything or click anything. Did anyone else receive this exact email? I googled what Post Prelander is, but I couldn't find any information.

You did everything right.

Such and similar mails are now often sent – often even with a “official touch”, as if they were from official side.

Do not open these messages and do not click on the frequently attached files – that can be executable files and you then install malicious programs or the like yourself.

That’s why just delete such mails.

As long as you only look and click nothing will happen. It might have been misunderstood.

You mean a red castle. Thus, Google warns that incoming/outgoing mails are NOT TSL encrypted.

Searched a source where you can read it:

We’ll probably talk to each other.

If you only look but don’t click on a link, nothing happens.

Of course you may NOT click the link.

So don’t make a head

Such messages often land in the spam folder where the attachments are not so easily visible and/or open.

However, if you move it into the “Input” folder or marked it as “No Spam”, you can open it.

If you click on a link, you have confirmed that your own mail addy does not only work, but that incoming mails are also opened.

If you’re lucky, “only” spam will come in the next time.
