Horse vaccination?
How long will my horse have to rest? What can I do after vaccination?
A horse on the farm where I ride galloped so fast today that my friend fell off. She wasn't hurt, though. I think the horse was happy to be able to gallop again after a long time and got cocky. My riding instructor then hit the horse about 10 times on the bow with the…
My horse won't let you tie her up. I've been riding her for almost three years and have gotten to know her so well that you can't tie her up. She doesn't like or accept anything that puts a lot of pressure on her neck. She also doesn't like side reins or triangle reins; she'll…
Hello everyone, I need some moral advice. As far as I know, you obviously pay for a riding share, but not usually for foster horses. I haven't paid anything for my foster horse for the last two years. But now the owner wants 50€ per month – again, it is NOT a riding share, I…
Good evening, I hope you can help me. I sold my horse about a month ago, and now it's coming back because the buyer no longer wanted him. Since I thought I didn't have a horse anymore, I sold my saddle to my girlfriend verbally, but she didn't have enough money so she gave me…
We have a horse at work with severe chronic diarrhea. So severe that the stool remains in the coat, sticks to the area around the anus, and turns the white hind legs and tail black. This is especially annoying in winter, of course, because it can freeze solid (and even if it doesn't, you can't…
My horses get at least 2 days off after vaccination. Depending on how they can carry them a third day.
Pause means in the case that the horse should not sweat/do not exert physically. Relaxed walks or a wellness unit are naturally allowed. With soil work and co. I would be cautious, some horses are somewhat stiff in the neck after vaccination and then find gymnastic exercises not so tingling.
PS: Why don’t you ask the TA if you don’t have any experience with vaccinations?
Why doesn’t the veterinarian say his mandatory sentence?
(I guess this is about RB/PB and the FS wasn’t in the appointment, but the owner)
So my TA doesn’t tell me. But he’s been plucking my horses for decades and knows that this is nothing new for me. I don’t know if it’s always mentioned at “new customers”.
I still have to say it after 11 years – I don’t know if they don’t have to mention that, legally speaking.
After decades with the same customer, I can understand – but it seems that this was a new customer when I ran through the questions…
In principle, the veterinarian must also say something like “2-3 days” during each vaccination. I have my own horse now for 11 years – and this is still said to me every time.
Means as much as: horse should not sweat. Better do nothing for 2-3 days or go for a walk than to overstress the horse and damage the body.
Of course, there is something about vaccination – but in general the veterinarian must have said something about it.
As with human beings – there is also no one, it beings, it shows special symptoms. However, 2-3 days of gentler work are said: the horse should not be expelled.
It’s best to calm down for 2 days. Just look at the horse not sweating. So go for a walk and if the horse wants to move, even just ride a ride. But it also depends on the vaccination and how the horse carries it. So just watch and ask the veterinarian best at this!
2-3 days do nothing strenuous, say no tournament, no course, no walking.
Everything else depends on the horse. If my horse wants to move (and he always wants to, even after vaccination), then I always move him. I’ll see something like that. The unit is a bit shorter and I’ll take more breaks.
Hello,
that’s what TA usually says. I usually do not ride 2-3 days, but go for a walk or just clean.
LG😊
Hey, slow down. Just like Punkgirl512 meant for approx. 2-3days make it easy and do nothing hard. Just like walking and relaxing. But that should have told you your TAG or you could have asked. LG😊
That’s what TA tells you.
Why didn’t you ask the veterinarian this question when vaccinating.
We can’t tell you, because we’re not veterinarians.
