Horse runs against the reins?
Hey, I have a bit of a problem. My mare has always been very fast, but at the moment she's just running! She runs against the reins, so it's sometimes really hard for me to bring her back and I have to help her a lot with the reins, which isn't ideal, of course, because I don't want her to become numb in a short space of time. But I can't bring her back at all with my seat. Collected canter only works on the short side of the arena; she always rushes off on the long side! Yes, I'm not an ideal rider, but I really need help. As soon as she starts running again, I halt her, which always takes a very long time because, as I said, I'm not very good at bringing her back… I'm asking for help and tips. Thank you very much!
The horse lacks a reasonable training.
I’ve read in the comments that you’ve only had them for two months – haven’t you got a trainer who accompanies you? If no, why not?
Just when the horse was bought from bad posture (but I don’t necessarily understand why you still support such people!) and since it was badly ridden, it’s the first call to call a previous riding instructor or someone else.
Why is the horse galloped if it seems to have no balance? What’s that for you? Except that the joints of the horse are broken off in the long term? Why don’t you miss out on gallop for a few months, first develop muscles and balance?
You know that you need help. You’ll get them in a reasonable way from a GUTEN riding instructor. Here on the internet nobody can see you riding, we can only guess here using our glass ball. In order to achieve reasonable results and to offer the horse a corresponding training, i.e., if necessary, also ride. This should be calculated in principle if you buy a horse from bad posture, which usually costs significantly more than a healthy horse from the outset.
Even if your horse runs, you have to drive it against the rein. Maybe you shouldn’t be practicing that in the way you’re overwhelmed. Stretching is achieved with the butt. Some horses escape a hard hand through laziness, andre through race, always comes first the driving aid.
in the trab, that’s pretty good. I almost give up too much to how many people think and also make sure they’re running loose. When I get her to the rein in the gallop from behind, she starts to run even more… it’s already a problem for me if I want to get out of the bow slide and take him back… so I can easily get to the belly, and so run away…
Then that means she doesn’t understand the driving aid. Driving does not mean making the horse faster, but ideally placing the hind legs better below the center of gravity.
both.
The horse or the horse…
You can’t really say something without seeing you. Provided that horse is healthy, the equipment fits, teeth made, etc. then, for example, wrong/missing muscles and of course lack of permeability can lead to such behavior. Or you’re doing something that’s very wrong with the horse. Or, or…
You should invest in a good coach who will help you. Moreover, in these cases, I always ask myself why the rider does not change anything earlier… There is nothing to try it again and again in the same way and the horse reacts once again “wrong” and the not desired behavior manifests itself a little more. Or do you think it’s better if your horse is completely dead in the mouth?
How about ground work? Long-distance work? Longing? In addition to many basics, you can build wonderful muscles from the ground, develop suppleness and also strengthen confidence. Without power struggle. And then it works with the riding.
I only got them for two months and got them with this “inhabitation” or even worse training, and she really doesn’t have any muscles… so really no fun, but we’re just trying to change that! Equipment fits and healthy is the mouse too… Of course I don’t know much about her prehistory as we don’t have her so good posture and I think she wasn’t really horse-friendly, but I don’t know that.
then you have to start not only at NULL, but before:
with the entire Fohlen-ABC
ABER
you need a continuous (violent) concept
and if you do this for the first time and not the 30th or 40th time also a good trainer who has the idea of several riding styles, because it may be that your horse is so controversial that you need all that you have done so far, have experienced a completely different UMGANG, a completely different equipment, a different behavior on your part, a completely different attitude, feeding, etc.
I’ve been doing this three times – GEDULD GEDULD GEDULD and expertise, that needs such a poor being!
e.g.: My tinker had been invaded with violence, had probably received many punches and had “adapted” – result: if anyone in the paddock or otherwise in his vicinity also only one stick or something similar of 20 centimeters (!!!) Length in the HAnd held, he got PANIK!!!! It took 2 years, until he stopped working on every branch that I planted as a sluggish…… he’s still cautious after 6 years when anyone who goes strange with barley through the BAhn….
Very helpful answers here…
From a distance it is always a little hard to judge, maybe you have a riding instructor who can support you?
Did you ever think about changing the bite, because she might be dissatisfied with it if she doesn’t accept it?
yes, we have a trainer… but he works with a lot of thirsty and is very impatient what I don’t see… I’d rather get tips from outsiders and others from the farm or on the internet! With us was a bite expert who has exactly adapted her a bite and with whom we are totally satisfied! We also have two others, but I think you can see that they are running best with the adjusted one!
All right, then just keep working on the help. However, use weight aids, work with voice, this can also be reinforced with regular ground work. Perhaps it is a habit/disobedience that has settled sometime and has not been corrected in time. I still know that the ponies in the stable, in which I started riding as a child have always been unreadable in the gallop
Is everything okay? The equipment is optimally adapted, Osteo was there and checked through the animal? Such problems can also come from pain in the back
The veterinarian comes regularly, and apart from chronic feces, she has no complaints. The saddle is also well adapted so it shouldn’t lie…
please let a good osteopath look up again.
We’ll let you do it soon. Thank you.
Then ride, when she’s speeding, let her run in circles until you get the fun.
Don’t give short commands, even in the case of separation, long continuous signals.
If someone teases you on your shoulder for hours, you’ll ignore him at some point.
Get a riding instructor in the hall that can intervene with emergency.
From a distance it is always hard to say something.
Is the horse healthy?
Is that all right?
Does the horse have enough movement? Speak pasture, etc. Or box prison?
Riding lessons would be really sensible and perhaps also a ride.
It is healthy and has an optimally adapted equipment! It stands day and night in the open-stall with shelter and is ridden or longed 6 times a week… we have a trainer at the farm who, in my opinion, doesn’t deal well with my horse… she works with a lot of pressure and has a very hard hand (she used to sit on my horse more often to correct her) and ride… Puhh this is really a lot of money but I’m really thinking if I let it go again!
If you don’t like her going around with your horse, what did she lose on your horse? Then why aren’t you looking for someone to tell you?
You could also find another one.
You’d better find a RL. Try to turn them off and bend lienia bsp, circle or follow to ride. To gather them, you need to drive more with the legs
the HIlfe can only give you a good RL on site.
The horse is, as you say, “on the flight.” Before your “helps”, maybe even before any pain.
have you no riding instructor on site who can give you some tips?
Yes, but in my opinion, the riding teacher has no good handling of horses…
Then find another
If you say that this will take a long time, it’s probably not the best solution.
I would recommend you to ride many curved lines, circles, snake lines. Above all also those with 3 or 4 arches, in the turns it must be forced to slower and it remains occupied by the head. If she starts running, it can also be helpful to ride.
Otherwise sit down and make it hard to knee up and in the trench while slightly wearing it, then it has to wait almost for you until you sit again 🙂
Thank you for the helpful answer!
Yes, I am not an optimal rider but I really need help.
Then take riding lessons.
