Horse just stops and doesn't want to go any further?
Hello
My horse partner and I only go out into the countryside because we only have a small area where we can do ground work but not ride. I love the time out, she actually likes it too, but the last few times there have been problems. It started (at least I think) when I wanted to go down a path she didn't know. She stood still and didn't want to go any further. It didn't help, no pressure from my thigh, no vocal aids. Then I gave her a light helping of the whip but still applied pressure, etc. Nothing helped, so I got off and led her back and forth, walk and trot, back and forth. Then it worked again, but now she has started to stand still and not do anything at all. If someone leads her for a moment, she lashes out, rushes forward and stops again. I then gave her the whip once more, yes, it hurt her, but she didn't move, and I saw that the whip was no use, okay, I tried again before the whip, of course also pressure from my thigh and vocal aids. She was still standing there, then a colleague who had come along led her again. She only took one step, and then she broke away again, ran like crazy, and stopped, not wanting to go any further. Then I got off again and led her. She was an angel. Do you have any tips on what to do?
LG Chiara
the horse has already learned that you sit down if it doesn’t want to go on and that it doesn’t have to work anymore. the more theater it does, the more you go home.
talk to the owner of the horse about the problem and let her help you. it’s not up to you to ask strange people on the internet and maybe the horse owner knows nothing. you always have to address the problem where it occurs.
the longer you wait, the more the unwanted behavior of the horse will strengthen – until you can no longer ride it at all. then it’s too late.
In addition, you can also take riding lessons on school horses elsewhere. there is no point where you say “so now I can ride and have no need to teach” – even international professionals take lessons.
I still take riding lessons mna has never learned 2 times a week I have riding lessons glg
Okay.
What level do you ride and what training does the horse have?
How they do it with the equipping of the horse, which has it and how good has it been adapted when?
How old is the owner’s child?
When was the last time the horse was working gymnastic?
What is the health status of the animal and who checked it?
What was that way, gravel, rough or fine?
Is the horse beating?
As a result, I find horses as very desirable, only with an eye dimension. Here it might be possible that you are wrong with the horse.
I can only give you the tip here, just knock on the bush when you are sure you are not a monster to wake up. Unnecessarily a horse has been destroyed as soon as possible, but it takes more than one whole life to correct a horse.
So in any case you have to work on your trust base.
Do you know if the horse has already had bad experiences in this way? Or is there a problem in general with new ones?
I’m always doing trust work right now. She has always been a site of pony, but since it is usually only managed the daughter of the owner rides her and that is usually managed. I do not know that there are problems in general in new ways the owner said she also runs new ways quite normal…
There is no work of trust.
One deserves confidence by always being consistent (not gross!), reliable, predictable and fair.
Well, if it is guided, it won’t surprise me.There most horses feel safer than if the person sits on top of it.I would train at your place exactly on this “problem path” until it goes voluntarily and relaxed.
No, I work with every horse like that. Even with me unknown. This is for me the legendary Horsemanship – fair, predictable, consistent. Folds with every horse.
You seem to mean exercises on the specific problem of the horse. So, for example, a scary horse. That’s not what I was talking about.
It may take 2% of the cases to concrete the horse if it otherwise becomes dangerous for the human being. In all other cases, you are going as I have described.
Where knowledge ends, violence begins.
You are going from the situation as to how to act when you have your own horse, best from small to small. But there are also second-hand horses that already have problems due to different experiences and you have to find an approach. Without specific exercises on the relevant issue, these animals would be indelible. If I were home and the time for this, I would like to give you a few examples by link.
Parelli is just conditioning and has nothing to do with horse-friendly communication. Horsemanship is an epitome for “Pferd-Human Relationship” (probably Parelli doesn’t fall under it here).
No, I’m not throwing anything in, I’m asking you what you think of exercises that I obviously don’t seem to know or the effect isn’t clear to me.
because in my eyes there is a basis of trust by being clear, understandable, fair and predictable to the horse at any time and not by any exercises.
Horsemanship and Parelli are methods of improving communication and mutual understanding and thus a completely different rail.Do you only have names that you have picked up or what are your helpful comments based on?
They’re there? And now please don’t say “Horsemanship” or “Parelli” or something.
Oo of course there are certain exercises and training methods to strengthen trust!
Doing the horse extra hurt is definitely not the solution.. is clear that it then boils…
I gave the horse 1 or 2 times the whip others would not have stopped hitting. A hoofing from another horse hurts a lot more. When it was guided it had no pain but only no pleasure. LG Chiara
What’s that -sorry-worn argumentation?
Then I can give my child an earfeige, because others beat the children completely?
You realize that the gerte isn’t there to make that pony?
Behavior is still absolutely not okay. There is no contradiction.
This is, in my opinion, the right use for a gerte đđ¤
Name Katja and loves leather.
not that either.
the gerte is there to play with the stallkatze.
That’s what makes his friend or friend!
The horse was insecure. And instead of explaining to him that it doesn’t need to be afraid and you take care of it, you’re sleeping. Honestly, you don’t have to wonder.
Whoever works a horse with compulsion has lost nothing at the stable! The animal has now learned that you are not trustworthy and must be afraid of you as you are unfair and gross.
Let that go and confess to the owner what you do for a mischief. Then you can address the problem together.
The horse was not afraid I know this horse when it’s scared it reacts differently. For example, she’s afraid of cows then she always starts the escape to the front exactly the same with big dogs.
If you know the horse so well, why do you have to ask for help with a comparatively small problem here?
I didn’t say she was afraid, but was insecure. That’s a difference.
She basically asked you if you’re sure you can go there without prejudice. And you said, if she doesn’t go that way right now, she’ll be fine.
What do you think she thought? “Now let’s see how I can annoy the old man up there best”? No horse thinks that!
Hello, Chiara!
If your horse always stops and doesn’t go on with normal leg pressure, then next time you should press gently with your legs against your stomach, so nerve it until it starts again. Nerv it all the time and if it makes a step forward, then praise it completely stupid!
If you knock properly against your abdomen all the time, or pic it with the spores, it will not react any more soon and may get cornea at the places.
It’s really working!
I hope I could help you! LG produktī¸
So I also know that: https://www.pferde.support/
Thank you and I never ride with spores just fear that I have a too restless leg and I will try glg Chiara
You don’t have to ride with spores. I don’t do it myself and I think you should only wear spores if you have a quiet leg and don’t abuse the spores.
