PC won't boot and the CPU indicator light is red?

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I replaced my CPU case and cooler. Now the PC won't boot, and I only get a light on the CPU. I've tried a lot of things: resetting the BIOS, loosening the CPU cooler, and removing and installing RAM sticks, but I just don't know what to do. I suspect a pin is broken. Perhaps someone knows something about this and can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, there’s a PIN missing. If the motherboard was expensive, you can ask ASRock if they can click. 🙈 Otherwise you have to buy new board.

For example, you can also go to traders like ARTL. They can test this on site. Then you’re sure it’s gone. 🥴

Before:

Warrantydue to legal regulations to the seller. With you over Mindfactory.

One Guarantee is a voluntary service of a manufacturer, with you ASRock.

Abgebogenic PINs do not fall under either of them. This is improper use🥴 You can report it to Mindfactory, but they won’t replace it from Kulanz?? But they certainly have a workshop that can repair it (at least try). At ASUS you pay for it, for example, incl. VAT 59.95 Euro.

You have to decide. With a board for 250 euros, I would have it patched. I’d report it to Mindfactory. They will probably refuse a free exchange.

🙈 It worked with me too. But they only spook at CID and wanted 59.95 euros, but in the end it was free. Probably the repairers noticed an error that does not come from incorrect use. With me, a PIN was bent at the edge and even pressed against the direction into the plastic.

Write directly to the manufacturer. That worked at least with me.

The right of withdrawal of 14 days after the purchase may be withdrawn if the deadline has not expired. But remain the verbal PIN damage. 🥴 There is the buyer who runs behind the money. If MF is to deduct the costs of the damage.

The manufacturer will then pose for customer-induced damage (CID).

What idea do you have to get another MB? 🤔

No, but the right does not intervene in many cases.

Then the FS will press the thumb that he also gets a free MB. But he has no right on his side.

Yeah, that was at Gigabyte. We first asked the salesman and they said it was self-responsibility.

Then we have sent directly to Gigabyte and they have said that they 1) cannot guarantee that the pin was not damaged during transport or during production and 2) that the problem is known to them that the pins are very sensitive and can be defective even in case of cautious installation according to the user manual and they cannot detect any misuse and therefore repair the MB.

At the end, no repariertes MB came but a new one.

Yeah, first report to Mindfactory that’s not possible. Then you will be able to send it in for free. They will then make a photo and say it is a mechanical damage that is not covered by the warranty. With good luck, they exchange it for free.

Realistically they will offer you the attempt to repair (without guarantee). But will cost 50-60 euros or send you the defective.

If you have a dealer in the area with a workshop or a replacement CPU, then I would first test if it really was the PIN. Only with the most important parts (zero method).

But it will probably be the most likely that it’s on the PIN. 🥴

With a bent or missing PIN???

We also had such a case there was a new MB sent by the manufacturer and this fell completely under the cunning.

Where do you see broken pin(s)?

GuteAntwort2021

I guess a new board will be due. But before you see if the broken pin might be in the back of the CPU. That would be very problematic.

Yeah, that really looks like someone’s broken off! However, a broken pin does not necessarily mean that the computer no longer starts.

Only if it was more critical (for example, the one responsible for power supply or the like). Are the fans rotating when starting? At least for a second?

Unfortunately you can’t see anything on the picture, check again all connections

ROFL, I’d use the processor again. On the picture the base is empty. :

But if it only shows the pins and so intent I can’t see a broken pin.

If this is an AMD processor, you just have to wait 5 minutes after switching on. AMD needs a little longer at the first start after processor withdrawal.

Then the PC restarts once or twice independently.

Only if nothing happens after 5 minutes you have a problem.

Now on the second photo is actually a pin with a bent or probably broken tip. There’ll be a new board.

This is also very good at Notebookbilliger. They have a very good service. It was a 1 year old RTX2080. Since the manufacturer did not report I received the full purchase amount after a month. Meanwhile, the prices had dropped and I bought a 2080 Super and at the end had 50,- Euro over as well as a game from the first.

The problem-free return as a final consumer only goes without problems with Amazon. 🙈

Reperature won’t do anyone. It’s not worth it.

If you’re going to do it skillfully and still Garanie just tried. The motherboard suddenly failed his service. 🙂 Don’t tell me about any pins.

I used to have a new motherboard with which a few verbal pins could be seen. I got a new motherboard. However, I am a dealer and spend a lot of money with my wholesaler in the year. Then nobody looks so closely.
