Taking over someone's PC, what should I consider?

Hello everyone,

I'm about to receive a fairly new laptop from someone (Dell Precision, Windows 11 Pro), which I'll be able to use entirely by myself. The other person still has a user account on the PC, but it's about to be deleted, and I already have a user account of my own. Do I need to be aware that any admin rights or other things will be transferred to my user account so that I can use the PC alone and without restrictions in the future?

Is there anything else to consider?

Thank you!

The most secure is to completely delete the board and install Windows (or whatever) completely new. Taking over an installation from a predecessor will eventually create problems, and you don’t know what’s so much less good on it.

The license key is usually deposited in the TPM on the board, which remains there. Reading should be successful in this way:

Creating an installation stick is highly recommended (only!) so, not by any third source:

If the PC was used during operation, there should be no problems.
