PC takes too long to boot. Problem?
After a seemingly simple overclock, my PC no longer boots properly. The fans constantly run at unusual speeds, the LEDs light up, the fans spin, but no signal is displayed on the monitor. The monitor is connected correctly, but no image is displayed. The keyboard and mouse also no longer light up.
Even after waiting four to seven hours, the PC still hasn't booted. It seems as if the PC is trying to boot, but not properly. I've tried turning the PC off and on several times, but that hasn't resolved the problem. Do you have any possible causes or solutions?
Because of a seemingly(!) simple overclocking, your PC no longer boots properly.
Try removing the CMOS battery, waiting a few minutes and reinserting it.
…and of course hope that your setup is running with the UEFI default settings and that you haven't damaged any hardware with your actions.
Hello Chris,
Can you reset the BIOS to default settings?
If it doesn't work because of a black screen, you can unplug the PC from the power supply and remove the BIOS battery for 15 minutes and then restart the PC.
Then he must have forgotten the settings.. 🙏
If you have no idea about overclocking (otherwise you wouldn't be writing this here), then you know the culprit.
Go into the BIOS, reset it and that's it.
And what's the point of overclocking? It's 2-5 FPS, but it feels like 100% more power consumption.
Ever heard of undervolting?
