PC starts, but screen, mouse and keyboard do not?
Hello, I wanted to start my PC today. When I started it, the fans were unusually loud. So I restarted the PC. After the restart, the PC was running, but not the devices mentioned above. The power light on the monitor shows activity, the LEDs in the mouse and keyboard are not lit.
Just because your fans are spinning doesn't mean your PC is running.
Do the LEDs on your motherboard stay lit when an error message appears?
And if the PC is a new build:
I have had the PC for a while now and have upgraded it from time to time. I don't get an error message because the monitor just doesn't display a picture.
The errors would be indicated by LEDs on the motherboard. Depending on the system, this would be either a hexadecimal code on a small 7-segment display or four small LEDs, usually located on the edge near the 24-pin connector.
Some older or very cheap boards don't have this, so you need a small speaker that is connected to the board and that reports errors to you using beep codes.
Okay, the board is too spartan for LEDs, so in order for the board to tell you what the error is, you'll need to connect the system speaker. The connector for this is located at the bottom of the front panel (manual page 16) https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-ab350m-ds3h_e.pdf
A speaker should come with the motherboard included. https://amzn.eu/d/hLLihrX
I'm sorry, but I don't know what a 7-segment display, a hexadecimal number or the 24-pin connector is, my mainboard is a Gigabyte AB350M-DS3H
