PC screen translator?
Hello folks,
Since I rediscovered language learning about a year ago, I'm looking to integrate active learning into my everyday life (e.g. Netflix in Spanish with German subtitles, etc.).
I'm currently looking for a way to implement this for my work and gaming sessions on the PC. This means I occasionally change the language in games or on the PC in general to Spanish. However, this isn't always easy to manage and is often quite challenging. There's also a small learning curve, of course, because when you have to Google unfamiliar words, they sometimes stick in your mind.
Nevertheless, this method has proven rather futile. I've already done some research online, looking for a program that acts as a kind of "universal translator."
So I'm looking for a program that basically works like subtitles on Netflix/YouTube and automatically recognizes the text and translates it into German.
There is probably nothing like this on the market yet and I have discovered a gap here 😀
Does anyone know of a program like this? Of course, it's okay to charge a bit—if someone sets something like this up, they should be compensated accordingly.
I'm also open to further suggestions that might promote an even more effective learning method (yes, I'm already familiar with the Birkenbihl method…)
Thank you very much for your answers!
That wouldn’t bring much. On the one hand there is also a lot of slang or dialect. This overwhelms translators. On the other hand, the Spanish and German subtitles and subtitles often also almost never give exactly what was said.
That you’re overwhelmed quickly is clear. You’re missing the basics. And you should work on it. You cannot learn Spanish by vocabulary. The grammar is important, the forms speak for themselves where it needs additional words in German.
Thanks, I had noticed that with the grammar! At the hackts also most – I am particularly concerned with building much more vocabulary. And this is more playful and not just about vocabulary training. I’m not so much about a correct interpreter translation. Often, it only fails in isolated words that I do not know and then can only perceive the connection of a dialogue.
Thank you for your answer!
