You can insert another SSD into your PC, usually connections are still free.

Of course, depends on what would be “high cost” for you, but they now cost less than €100.

If the PC still has room for it, by buying an SSD (fast but expensive) or an HDD (slow, much storage for smaller budget).

Optionally, an external SSD/HDD can also be purchased, which can then be used via a free USB port. Also very popular for storing and securing important file copies.

Depending on how much storage is to be retrofitted, I would use roughly 50 – 100 euros as a budget. This allows both internally and externally and is enough to keep an eye on 1TB SSD or 4GB HDD.

In a desktop PC you should additionally check whether a required power plug and a connection for a SATA cable are still free. In a notebook, you would probably have to replace the existing drive against a larger one, secure the data beforehand and then install Windows and re-establish it.

Hello,

you build more mass stores. This can be an HDD or SSD, with the SSD being preferred in almost all cases.

That’s not really much. Depends on what you’re doing with the PC. It’s nothing for a gaming PC.

So what are high costs?

Around 50-60€ you get 1 TB as SATA SSD, or sometimes the much better Nvme SSDs.

Depending on your PC, you can start the hard drive through a larger one. But you need some technical know-how, tools and skills.

So you should have someone who has experience with it
