PC lags in every game with Windows 11 Pro, why?

I bought a pc this month

Built-in (RTX 40 70 , Intel core i9 13 gen , 32 GB ramm )

I have lag in every single game I have (CS2, Valorant, Minecraft, Rainbow Six Siege, etc.) and I don't know why. Unfortunately, a LAN connection doesn't work and I've updated my drivers (it still doesn't work). If anyone could help with a Discord call or something here, that would be great.

a LAN connection is not possible

That would be the problem that I would first address, W-LAN for gaming is basically just an emergency solution.

You can also test this all by starting a game that is played exclusively offline, so without any online constraints. Turn off your internet and start a SP game.

If it still comes to Lags and Co. you can start looking at the hardware. But if we start with the hardware I would first use the cooling as a nausea, then it would be interesting to cool the CPU (name from the CPU cooler).

After all that I could read so, you can probably put the problem to 100% on a bad internet connection, so it is important to improve it.

If a cable is not an option you need to find other ways to stabilize the connection.

The basic location of the router already makes a lot of difference. If this is quite decentralized (for example directly at the entrance door), the range is often not sufficient to supply the entire floor/apartment with it. You can readjust by placing the router as centrally as possible on the floor/apartment, or you can access a repeater that captures the signal and increases the range as a further transmitter/receiver.

You get a repeater for relatively small money from ~20€, but you can also spend 150€ and more for it. I would like to recommend the AVM repeaters, even I have had the best experience in the whole house (cellar, EC, Garage + Vorplatz, 1. OG, 2.OG as well as attic).

Important when placing the repeater is to know that a repeater can only extend such a good signal as the one he gets. So if the reception between router and repeater is already bad, the repeater will not be able to compensate.

Thus, a repeater is ideally placed so that it is able to receive a good signal from the router in order to reduce the resulting losses as much as possible.

The whole thing is quite easy to implement and does not take 5 minutes.

But this has a disadvantage especially for gaming and that would be the latency. The rags increase by ~3ms through the repeater, but this is negligible. Better 3ms worse latency than a generally miserable internet connection.

If a cable is not an option, you need to improve the connection between router and PC. Either you bring routers and PC closer together, or you’ll put a repeater on halfway.

You’ll get rid of your problem, installation effort about 5 minutes.

If it doesn’t fit the board or cooling at the 13900, it would be possible to do this simply down.

But because of the lack of information, it is only an initial thought

housing,

cooler,

Temperatures GPU/CPU

Loading of gpu

Cycle of cpu

Other hardware

Resolution

Settings in the game

Joa to start small. Also gives the PC more information that can be relevant.

Yeah, that would be great. Then you can do something

I’m old. But as others have said, it can also be related to your network connection.

I’m sorry.

45° GPU already hints at ne unloaded GPU.

All settings medium -> less GPU power, more CPU required (if the CPU overheats, fall directly the FPS).

Loading is given in %..not in cycle.

7 coolers? Maybe 7 fans. Doesn’t mean that the housing also gets the warmth in and out (although not at the CPU)

You can retrieve all data using MSI afterburner.

alone a sh*** housing, can let the power break down (zb closed glass front)

Do you have a link to the PC?

Did you buy the PC or are you one of the smart ones who think a 15 minutes YouTube video could give enough knowledge to do that for yourself?

You should first find out if this is all about your internet connection or hardware:

  • What kind of ping do you have when playing?
  • Does the internet connection remain constant or are there breaks?
  • How many pictures per second do you have and do they remain quite constant?
  • Is your hardware properly loaded and are the temperatures within the appropriate frame?
  • Do you use suitable graphics settings for the system?

These are all things you have to check before you can find any problem.

A 200 ping is a very rough delay. The (still realistic) ideal ping is about 10ms. All around the 40-70 is normal and also okay with a halfway decent internet. From 100 it becomes critical and from 200 you should really get problems. That’ll probably be the cause.

Only for security, you should check again that your GPU is permanently between 90% and 100%, but your CPU still has enough air up when it comes to utilisation. Screen should be set to maximum possible resolution and image repetition rate, as well as the games. The latest graphics driver should also be installed.

You can read the utilisation in the Task Manager and you can easily see the configuration from the screen in the Windows settings.

Laggen in the sense of bad ping? Then your Wi-Fi connection is too bad.
Laggen in the sense of low FPS? Then it could be a bit more complicated.

Yeah, it’s your Wi-Fi.

But there are alternatives. You can switch a so-called WLAN “amplifier” (concept is actually wrong, but no matter) in between. That’s the signal. Thus, one can significantly improve the range.
Otherwise, there would be LAN over the power grid in the house, something you can use.
