PC has very low FPS what to do?

Hello, I built a good PC 2 years ago

Components: Ryzen 5 3600, Geforce RTX 2070, ASUS ROG B450 Gaming II, 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM (but currently I'm only using 16 GB because I wanted to test it, since I have two different Corsair RAM sticks and I can set the newer ones to 3600 MHz, but it makes no difference)

Unfortunately, I'm having problems with my FPS everywhere at the moment. Could it be my monitor, since I have 2K and 144 Hz? I've tried so many things, including updating the BIOS, overclocking the graphics card, etc. What else can I do? I would also buy new components, but not a graphics card, since this one is actually still good for 2024.

Yes, the question has too little infos. It comes to play and settings.

The fact is that 2070 does not have enough steam in any case for 2k 144fps in many games. Low settings.

The RAM is enough. Your GraKa is 6 years old. I think it’ll be more

Take a look at the gpu excavation…

Is it 99% or below?

What if you turn the resolution down to FHD or even 720p?

depending on the game, your GPU 1440p can create or not with stable 144fps

thus comes to play and what level of detail you prioritize here

yes then stop is the CPU-GPU combination nix

and for 1440p with 144fps you need already ne 4070tiS or ne 7900XT Fortnite in Benchmark Test – ComputerBase with your 2070 far away from

All right, you’ll play with a bad graphic. for that I can then leave such games and play Tetris, that has ne better graphics…

Hello,

Graphic card overclock

Overclocking brings only minimally more power

it can be on my monitor as I have 2K and 144 heart

For WQHD, the setup is already something lean

n but no graphics card since this is actually still good

Especially the graphics card. With my RTX 2070, depending on the game, I have to make cuts at Full HD

what to do?

Check ingame the utilisation of the components. You see which component is loaded and the performance is limited

If you have the graphic settings rather high then this is normal with a 2070 on qhd Kanu that you have little FPS because the card is simply not the strongest

The RTX 2070 is a 6 year old mid-range graphics card that is no longer very fast in today’s games. It only helps to screw down details or resolution.
