PC crashes?

Whenever my PC has to perform at high speed, it always crashes. This problem occurs especially with FIFA 23, but less so with other games. The game freezes, then the screen goes black. Then there's a blue screen with a sad smiley. It says it's looking for a problem, but after a long time it only shows 0 percent progress. At some point the screen goes black again and the text: select proper boot device appears. After restarting, this message goes away and the PC works again as long as I start a game? Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Since the power is obviously causing the problem here, I would suspect a malfunction in the cooling system.

Check CPU cooling, check graphics cooling, check case fans.

Additionally, perform a RAM test.

By the way, the RAM doesn't necessarily have to be defective if the test shows errors. Sometimes it helps to lower the RAM clock speed a bit. Problems often occur when you have an AMD processor and use four RAM modules. In this case, you should either remove two or lower the memory clock speed and run the test again.

Sounds like a power supply that's too weak, or the graphics card is drawing too much power.

What kind of power supply and graphics card do you have?

(It might help if you turn down the graphics settings in the game – so the graphics card doesn't have to work as hard and therefore doesn't use as much power as if you had everything set to max.)

Why don't you look at the event viewer first?

Errors or error messages are logged there.

Then delete all information in the event viewer and restart the PC, it's possible that you missed the information.

select proper boot device

This indicates a problem with the hard drive.

The fact is that when you select proper boot device, the boot disk isn't found. For whatever reason.
If the palette is not correct and a lot of data is required, the PC may freeze.

But it could also be a problem with the motherboard.
