PC configuration with 7800XT – sensible and feasible?
Hello everyone,
I'd like to buy my own PC for Black Friday and then build it myself. After some thought, I came up with the configuration below.
Since I unfortunately have absolutely no idea about PC components, I wanted to ask the pros here what you think of the configuration I've cobbled together and what you might do differently.
Perhaps first my requirements for the PC itself:
- Trading: The number of chart windows is manageable – use a 49 inch 3840 x 1080 pixel monitor
- Occasional gaming: Now and then, for example, League of Legends, but in the future probably also shooters, but Full HD is enough
- Regarding the monitor: I don't plan on gaming in full HD. I always adjust it to 27 inches.
- Budget: Around 1,000€ (if necessary at all?)
Otherwise I don't have any special applications like video editing or anything like that.
My current wishlist looks like this: https://geizhals.de/wishlists/4052207
- Maybe I can recycle some of it for my new jam or is it all just junk?
… and that would be the configuration I was thinking of borrowing 🙂
- Graphics card: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7800 XT Gaming OC 16G = 483€
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X = 169€
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS Elite V2 = 112€
- Storage drive: I still have a 1TB SSD = 0€
- RAM: G.Skill RipJaws V black DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3200 = 50€
- CPU cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE = €37
- PC case: Fractal Design Focus G, black, acrylic window = 61€

The bottom line is about 978€
My further question at this point:
- In theory, would there be enough space for everything as I have put it together above?
- Is the 7800XT overkill for my applications? If so, what would be a viable alternative in your opinion?
I am very grateful for any feedback, tips and exchange of experiences.
Thank you in advance. 🙂
Would definitely go to AM5, AM4 is dead.

7800xt for just 1100€ could be in the BF for 1000€, or at just 1000€ 6800. But would rather grab 7800xt.
From your PC, I would use the housing and the hard drive. A new housing does not damage. If you don’t need the SSD, you save 56€, but SSD is recommended. Would then definitely reach the 7800xt, especially since it was already in Amazon for 450€.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F
Mainboard: ASUS TUF Gaming 650-Plus
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 16GB (alternative: RX 7700 XT, see )
Memory: 32 GB Lexar Ares RGB DDR5-6000 CL30
Part 650W Seasonic G12 GM
CPU cooler: Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 EVO
Housing: DeepCool cc560 ARGB V2
The CPU is a bit slower, but based on AM5. You can then upgrade to the latest CPUs for years. The GPU(s) is enough for you. However, you can always see how the prices of the RX 7800 XT develop. Your RAM… too slow. Here you have a super fast.
