PayPal requires photo ID, are they allowed to do that?
Hello,
i recently had my PayPal account blocked. I would now like to have it unblocked again, but PayPal wants me to provide a photo ID, which I don’t understand, I’ve browsed through the terms and conditions a bit and found nothing that says they can request a photo ID, of course it’s about security, but I’m not sending a scan of my ID. I can’t cancel the account because it’s blocked. What should I do now?
Greetings,
Dommp.
You should read the privacy policies… browse through Paypal is never recommended
Additional verification
If we cannot verify the information you provide or if you request a check payment to a address other than your verified credit card billing address, we ask you to send us additional information by fax (such as ID, credit card billing and/or current electricity, gas or water billing, or any other information you contact with the appropriate address) or to answer additional questions online so that we can confirm your information.
Definitely the requested answer with reject from the contract. Thank you.
if there is no more money on it, there is no lock on it.
anyway: yes of course that’s okay!! paypal is about money. for you, perhaps only for a few euro but for another tens of thousands euro – and there it is only normal that they are working with proof, and in principle they are allowed to all whatever they want, namely YOUR side and YOUR offer. if they say they want to nen nude photo of you so you get that account you have to send them either nen nude photo or let it stay, your decision 🙂
I don’t know if it’s like a termination, otherwise I don’t care whether the account is locked or not. Finally, there is a contract, or can I leave the account locked?
This is such an absolute bullshit, I quote: if they say they want to call naked photo of you so that you get an account you either need to send them nude photo or leave it to your decision :).
You are aware that this would not be followed or understood by any judge or other, such agbs and privacy policies.
Please another example next time.
Greetings
Yes, they can.
Do you have a current account with your bank? Did you have to show a personal protein there? Would you like to show your personal information there?
After you have answered these questions for you, let us tell you that PayPal has an official bank license in Europe, I don’t see where your problem is, PayPal is no longer the clap it was a few years ago.
Hello,
thank you for your answer. ; Yes, I also showed my bank my ID, but I thought PayPal didn’t have such a bank license. I wrote an email to PayPal and my account was also unlocked. However, I would not have sent my ID trzdm. via Internet.
I can certainly insist on your concerns, only PP has stopped.
PP only has such a license in Europe, in the USA it has no :-), but we are here in Europe
Only is it a difference to present its identity card for compensation or upload a scan of the identity card. Since for many hackers the reading of the email addresses of registered users is not an art, this data will not be much more difficult.
You just have to read the data they need to identify you… so name address would I say…
Figure identification number, etc., can be made unmistakable (I say) because it is rather unimportant in the context;)
Australian
Sure they can. If you blocked the account, everyone could unlock it and work with your data immediately. They want to make sure you’re “DU”. If you don’t want to leave it locked and make a new one!
if paypal didn’t want to have a near mind, anyone could block the account or unlock it again.
I would at best paint the number of the sign black so that it is not readable and see if it works like that.
that serves your security or security of your account/deal there….if something goes wrong and the money is gone or the account is abused for any machinations, then the shout is great……
So either you meet the required requirements or you leave it at the current state of things!
Provide a scan of your ID or leave the account locked.
You want something from them?
