PayPal message. Fake or real?
I sold an item on Vinted, and the person wanted to pay via PayPal Friends. Then I received a message with a link (see attached image—I cut out the link) and finally, their message saying they had paid and the money should be there.
This message I received, is it fake or real?
I have received NO MONEY.
Otherwise, the buyer seems reputable to me, as she has many reviews and items are online.
The following messages from her are quite normal (and German)
How should I proceed?
Of course the fake is.
About family and friends the money comes directly to your PayPal account within seconds.
You do not have to click on any links and above all you should not enter your PayPal Login data via the link.
(Aside from that, you actively commit a scam to PayPal by circumventing the fees because you sell goods via family and friends and make yourself punishable with it and risk your PayPal account at lifetime)
I’ll make it through Paypal friends so that the money can’t be withdrawn.
The whole thing is funny, because now the buyer claims that I seem to lie as she has transferred the money.
After 2h, the money arrived only after a huge discussion, even though she said 3h ago that the money was already there.
Since the money is here now, do you think I can send the article without thinking?
Yes otherwise you will fulfill your part of the purchase contract according to § 433 para. 1 BGB not.
Don’t change the fact that you commit a crime. This is a classic scam according to § 263 StGB versus PayPal:
You are playing PayPal here that you are raising money from a friend, although you sell something and damage the fortune of PayPal because you prep their fees. You can go to jail for that.
In addition, the money can still be recovered. The buyer can report to PayPal that there was an injustice account access and then the money would be gone again.
Only if it really arrived. It is best to convince yourself by logging in to PayPal and looking after yourself.
In addition to the route mentioned by BMT216A, of course, the most secure cash payment remains against collection. There can also not be lost the goods by post.
If you want to send something, there is nothing safer for you as a seller than a SEPA transfer to your current account:
Once the money is on your account, it comes out of you No more.
It can also No start something with your bank connection, even if ignorants repeatedly assert something else.
And if someone should try a debit – what Extreme is unlikely – then you can unauthorized debits within a period of 13 months return:

Very important:
I sell something very rare, but I know well. Then how can I pay so that I am still on the “safe” side?
Yes, I did, because according to her, the money has been there for 3 hours, but I only got it 10 minutes ago… so of course this is not quite correct, but now the money is safe there
Brich, please Contact, this is a clear and well-known attempt to fraud!
You have received a fake message that the money has been transferred and you get it at the moment you post a parcel tracking number or an alleged courier has picked up the goods; or your bank access or credit card details are fished off.
It’s all fake. No bank in the world does such business. It is not part of the task of banks to check shipping.
It’s always happening. This is an old scam. Well-being sellers then send out or give out their merchandise without noticeing that they were cheated. And that’s it then – you never hear anything again, money never comes and your article is you.

By the way:
Shop goods or services by PayPal Family and Friends pay and PayPal gets this with, then PayPal rightly sees this as a fee bypass and can therefore also throw you out.
As with this colleague here:
And sorry, this is all in the as read clicked PayPal Terms of Use.
I’m doing this about friends, because the customers can’t withdraw the money and can’t rip me off. The danger is too great
The whole thing is funny, because now the buyer claims that I seem to lie as she has transferred the money.
After 2h, the money arrived only after a huge discussion, even though she said 3h ago that the money was already there.
Since the money is here now, do you think I can send the article without thinking?
This is a unfortunately widespread error:
Buyer can use PayPal an unjust account access report, and then the money would be gone.
And yes, of course, this also goes by payment PayPal Family and Friends, even though unfortunately ignorants always say something differently.
Yes, the buyer has fulfilled his part of the purchase contract with the payment, now are You on the line.
And remember Transmitted Vhesand.
Thank you
Fake. And with “paying over Paypal friends” I would also be cautious to GANZ, because this is an invitation for every cheater – in the end you are the Genazte.
