The old TV was cheaper in operation, the new one also caused purchase costs – how to get them back in? Every month you spend more than before, you can amortize yourself. Amortizing can only be a purchase (single investment) if one saves or even achieves ongoing profits at current costs. If everything becomes more expensive, a purchase cannot amortize.
